Flotation of coarse and ultrafine particles

  • Graeme Jameson, University of Newcastle, Australia
  • The flotation process is very efficient for mid-range particles of diameter 15 to 150 microns (base metals) or 10 to 350 microns (coal). Recovery rates decrease, the greater the distance from this range. Reasons for the fall-off in recovery will be discussed, and possible solutions will be proposed.
