Production of Co2 Basket by Amine Modified Commercial Palm Shell Activated Carbon
Global warming still attributed to the presence of excess amount of CO2; there were many suggestions to alleviate this problem. Activated carbon is a very well known adsorbent, mainly used in water treatment units, it is efficient, environmentally friendly, available and easy to manufacture from wide spectrum of raw materials. In this work activated carbon was loaded with amine-based chemicals to improve its adsorption capacity and to create a powerful synergy affect for the adsorption of CO2. The results so far showed good breakthrough time of 40 minutes for a 20 ml/min flow rate of 15% CO2, passing through a 5g activated carbon loaded with 2g amine-based chemical.
