Reflections on Multidisciplinary Engineering Design Project
The purpose of this paper is to share the authors' experiences in supervising multidisciplinary project work at undergraduate level and to discuss the continuous adaptation and evolution of this teaching activity that guided the design team towards a thriving creative environment. In engineering terms this project was compiled to compliment the following disciplines, electrical, chemical, and mechanical and civil engineering and provide multidisciplinary theme that focuses on integrating electrical, mechanical and computer engineering, and information technologies. The approach offered an integrated approach to all the planning, operations and environmental design skills needed for projects. Traditionally projects involving multi-disciplinary engineering design efforts are difficult to control, mainly due to the various sources of indecision however the approach emphasize that these management tools should be used in multi-disciplinary project courses to achieve integration.
